Sneha is donning the role of Vidya Balan in the Tamil remake of the recent Hindi hit ‘Kahaani’!

It is learnt from the recent reports from Kollywood sources that the recent Bollywood hit Vidya Balan starring ‘Kahaani’ is being remade in Tamil and talks are on to get the remake rights to make in Tamil and Telugu. Sneha is being seriously considered for the role of the protagonist in the film that ‘The Dirty Picture’ star Vidya Balan portrayed.

Sneha has also expressed her happiness over the offer and will be starting the film after her wedding that is scheduled for May 11. The actress is marrying her boyfriend actor Prasanna.

‘Kahaani’ tells the story of a pregnant woman who comes to Kolkata from London in search of her missing husband.

The actress is suffering with viral fever and doctors have advised her complete rest for two weeks. On her condition she messaged her fans and friends through a micro-blogging site, writing, “Down with a really bad viral attack so completely homebound for a week”

The actress was shooting in Andhra for her Telugu film ‘Dammu’ that she is acting with Junior NTR. Because of her illness she had to cancel her parts in the shoot and return Chennai home.

he actress is also acting in two Tamil films – ‘Samaran’ with Vishal and an untitled film with Jiiva.

Amala Paul, while confirming that she was approached to play the female lead opposite 'Jayam' Ravi in 'Boologam', however says she was unable to sign the project due to 'date issues' "I could not allot the dates required by them," she says.

Following Amala Paul's inability to be part of the project, it is said that a hunt is on by the producers, a top actress will be roped in for the task. "Expect an announcement soon," sources say.

Being produced by Aascar V Ravichandran, 'Boologam', directed by debutant Kalyan, has 'Jayam' Ravi playing a kick-boxer, a role which was already made memorable by him in 'M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi'.

Shooting for 'Boologam' is expected to start soon. An action adventure, the script is said to be having an interesting love episode too. "Fresher Kalyan is banking heavily on the script," add sources.

Karthi's political satire 'Saguni' that was initially slated for a Tamil New Years release will now, if sources are to be believed, see light of the day towards the fag end of May or early June.

This is because most of the scenes of 'Saguni' are being shot again! Buzz is that the producers watched the double positive of 'Saguni' and weren't satisfied with the scenes featuring the baddie, Salim Ghouse!

The film has a few villains and Salim Ghouse plays the main antagonist and apparently there are scenes featuring him and Karthi that aren't up to the mark and the producers want a re-shoot.

He is now replaced by South Indian cinema's favorite villain, Prakash Raj who is reportedly paid a huge amount for allotting a ten-day schedule for the film.

This movie by Dream Warriors is directed by debutant Shankar Dayal and is a high voltage action entertainer with Praneetha as the female lead. Scenes featuring Karthi and Santhanam are one of the major highlights of the film.

This is the latest buzz in tinsel town. Rumours are abuzz that Superstar Rajinikanth has been approached to unveil the music of Thala Ajith's forthcoming biggie 'Billa 2'! It is further said that the team is planning to launch the audio on a date suitable to the matinee idol, as he is currently in London shooting for 'Kochadaiyaan'.

The Superstar is close to Thala Ajith and this might have sparked off the rumours. "The audio launch will take place in the beginning of April and not March end as it was earlier said", express a few sources.

Rajini is the original star of 'Billa' that shot him to superstardom. Ajith's 'Billa' was a remake of his venture. 'Billa 2' is a prequel to 2007 blockbuster 'Billa' and showcases how David, a commoner from the Tamil Eelam becomes a dreadful don.

Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the audio is awaited eagerly due to the earlier offerings by Yuvan for Ajith starrers.

An official confirmation is expected on this front by the makers.

It is been rumoured that Simbhu is all set to pull out from director Vetrimaaran’s next project ‘Vada Chennai’ that he was planning to start soon and actor Jiiva is likely to replace Simbhu in the film!

Unconfirmed reports say since Simbhu is still busy his previous commitments that he is yet to complete his ‘Poda Podi’ and ‘Vettai Mannan’ Vetrimaaran sees that it is difficult for Simbhu to allot date for his film at this juncture and exploring other possibilities and start the film.   

Some reports say that it is the film’s delay that has caused Simbhu walking out of the project!   

The director now thinks replacing Simbhu with some other actor is the only way that he could do now and he is holding talks with Jiiva for the lead role in the film. 

It can be recalled that earlier also it was Jiiva who replaced Simbhu when the latter walked out of K V Anand’s project ‘Ko’ and the film became a blockbuster last year. History is repeating itself!   

‘Vada Chennai’ has Andrea in the female lead and Rana Daggubati, who was to do one of the crucial roles in the film, is also replaced with a new actor now and that is yet to be decided. 

Divya Spandana and Kishore are also doing prominent roles. G V Prakash Kumar is scoring the music and Velraj is handling the camera. Dayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies is producing the film.

It is finally announced. Yes, the Ajith’s much awaited film ‘Billa 2’ is releasing on May 25, 2012!

First, it was said that the film would be releasing on Ajith’s birthday, May 1st and now since the film is yet to get completed with some crucial scenes the makers of the film has postponed the date of release. The delay in release is due to the strike that was observed by the workers union and the shoot of the film was stopped for some while.
   

The film is directed by Chakri Toleti and Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music. Ajith, Parvathy Omanakuttan, Bruna Abdullah, Vidyut Jamwal, Prabhu and Rahman play the major roles.

It is reported that Nayanthara has signed another new film in Tamil pairing opposite Telugu star Gopi Chand!

The recent reports in the media confirms this as the actress signing Gopi Chand’s Tamil debut film that is directed by Boopathy Pandian and produced by Jaya Balaji Real Media.

Already there were reports that the estranged actress, who recently had a break-up with her longtime boyfriend Prabhu Deva, had signed a film to do the female lead in Ajith’s next film (after completing ‘Billa 2’) that is directed by Vishnuvardhan. But, regarding this nothing has been confirmed from the producer A M Ratnam, who is producing the film. It is said that the actress has not signed for the movie yet.

But, sources say that Nayanthara acting in Boopathy Pandian film is confirmed as the actress has held discussions with the director and the producer recently and agreed in principle to do the film now.

Dhanush film ‘3’ is been sold for a record price of Rs. 3 Crore for a single area in Andhra Pradesh.

The film’s Telugu rights was sold to one popular producer / distributor in turn he sold the rights of the area of Nizam to another distributor for a whopping sum of Rs. 3 Crore (only for that single area). Unconfirmed sources say that the whole Andhra rights would be sold to the tune of Rs. 10 Crore as 9 such pockets of distribution areas are there in Andhra Pradesh.

This has surprised everyone in the industry that how a dubbed film could fetch this much amount. It is Dhanushrecent popularity of the National award and the crazy hit of the ‘Kolaveri’ song that has sky-rocketed the price of the rights of the film.

Simbhu announces his marriage plans and says that he would marry in 2013!

The multifaceted star while talking about his marriage plans said that his mother was pestering him of getting married and he had agreed to marry in 2013 with a girl either seen by his mother or someone he falls in love before 2013! “I was in a serious relationship years ago. After that I never fell in love. But, I want to marry a pretty girl as I want to have beautiful kids. I love kids,” says Simbhu.

Simbhu is one of the busiest lead actors in Tamil cinema. His last release ‘Osthe’ was a lukewarm hit and the actor is currently filming three movies simultaneously. His ‘Poda Podi’ with Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in the female lead is almost completed and getting ready for release. ‘Vettai Mannan’ with Deeksha Seth and Hansika is all set to start its next schedule of shoot.

The actor is also doing a Vetrimaaran movie, ‘Vada Chennai’ pairing Andrea and with a story about the lives of the people of North Chennai.

Rumour mongrels had it that National Award winning director Pandiraj of 'Pasanga' fame will be teaming up with two actors he has earlier worked with, Vimal and Siva Karthikeyan in his next project.

When IndiaGlitz contacted the helmer he says, "I had a project with both Vimal and Siva Karthikeyan in mind even before Marina went on floors and then Marina happened for us. I'm still penning a script and we're planning to approach a leading hero in Tamil cinema. I will not be able to divulge more details but will make an announcement once things are finalized".

It was also reported that the film will be a laugh riot which will be made with a budget of Rs 4 crore. Pandiraj's latest offering 'Marina' with Sivakarthikeyan and Oviya basked on commercial and critical acclaim thanks to the clean family content and a novice script.

Even as their first venture together 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' is getting ready to grace the screens, producer-actor Udhayanidhi Stalin and director Rajesh M have decided to do a film again, soon after the release of 'OKOK'!

Confirming this, Udhayanidhi says, "Yes, I will be doing a movie with Rajesh again. He knows well the pulse of the audience Also; my wish is to act in a film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. I will also try to realize it soon."

Stating that he dubbed twice for 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi', the man behind Red Giant Movies says, "I guess I will be the only hero in Kollywood to do so. I felt so uncomfortable to do romance scenes."


Giving credits to Santhanam and Hansika Motwani, his co-stars in 'OKOK', Udhayanidhi says, "Both are top stars and they co-operated with me well during the shooting of the film. A big thanks to Rajesh for managing things in an efficient manner."

Industry insiders have it that Dhanush, popular video filmmaker Bharat Bala and ace music composer AR Rahman will be coming together for a film!

It may be mentioned 'Isai Puyal' AR Rahman and Bharat Bala share a good rapport and Bharat Bala has worked on all the video albums of AR Rahman including the acclaimed 'Vande Mataram' and 'Jana Gana Mana'.

Bharat Bala who has already graced cinema with 'Hari Om' that garnered rave reviews will be venturing in Tamil cinema as a filmmaker this time around and it is said that AR Rahman will be composing tunes for this flick which will feature Dhanush as protagonist. A leading producer will be producing this biggie.

They confirmed that talks are on but on a ground level for this project. Once things fall in place an official announcement listing the cast and crew will be made by the makers.

Dhanush is currently gearing up for the release of his pet project '3' which will see light of the day come April 6. The film will simultaneously hit the screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and is a romantic musical which will see Dhanush and Shruti Haasan in three stages of life.

It was widely reported that '3' featuring Dhanush, Shruti Haasan will see light of the day on March 30. The latest is that the film's release will take place on April 6. It is also further said that 'Saguni' has been pushed to the first week of May!

'3' marks the debut of Aishwarya Dhanush as a director in Tamil cinema. The film is red hot in trade thanks to the worldwide success of 'Kolaveri' and will be simultaneously releasing Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

The Hindi rights of the film have been bagged by Sony and Sun TV has bagged the satellite rights of '3' in Tamil. It will showcase three stages of love between Dhanush and Shruti.

Karthi's political satire 'Saguni' that boasts off several USPs will showcase him in a never seen before avatar and now with a May release the film will clash with Thala Ajith's magnum opus 'Billa 2' that's now slated for an April 27 release, as a pre-treat to the Thala fans for his birthday that falls on May 1.

Director Rudhran, who is a former associate of Vikram Kumar of 'Yavarum Nalam' fame, has started a film titled 'Vetri Selvan', with Ajmal in the lead. He says he actually penned the story having Vijay in the mind.

"However, due to some reasons, Vijay is not part of the movie. The film is about three individuals (Ajmal, Mano and Sherrif) who bring about a change in the society. How they are able to make it is the crux of the story," Rudhran says.

Ramesh Kumar, who made a big mark with 'Oomai Vizhigal', is the cinematographer of the movie, the director says and adds: "Radhika Apte plays the heroine. Music is by Mani Sharma and lyrics by Madhan Karky."

Stating that he initially named the movie 'Ranam', Rudhran says he then changed it to 'Sathyavan'. "However, I felt the need to give a positive title to the film and then I changed it as Vetri Selvan, a name symbolizing victory."

Anjali is playing the role of a Health Inspector in 'Masala Cafe', the comeback directorial venture of Sundar C. Besides the 'Angadi Theru' girl, the film has Vimal, Shiva and Oviya of 'Kalavani' fame in lead roles.

Says Anjali, "Masala Cafe is a typical Sundar C film that has no dearth for comedy. With Vimal and Shiva around, the humor quotient is increased even more. I am happy to play an important role in such a laugh riot."

Next in the line for Anjali is a film to be produced by AR Murugadoss, after 'Engaeyum Eppothum'. To be directed by Kinsely, a former associate to the '7aum Arivu' director, the movie is touted to have Murugadoss's younger brother in the lead.

"The character I am going to do in this yet-to-be-titled film is a straight contrast to the Manimegalai role I did in Engaeyum Eppothum," says Anjali. Speaking on a personal front, the actress says she finds no time to fall in love, at least for the next two years.

Popular on-screen baddie Salim Ghouse, who was playing Karthi Sivakumar's villain in 'Saguni', has been replaced by Prakash Raj. The sudden decision was made due to some unavoidable reasons, sources say, adding: "Some important scenes are being re-shot again."

"The last leg of shooting is currently on in Hyderabad. Prakash Raj is setting the sets on fire with his performance. Debutant director Shankar Dayal is happy about the outcome," sources close to the unit further say.

A huge star cast, including Radhika Sarath Kumar, Nassar, Roja and Mumtaj are there in 'Saguni', which is a political thriller. "I play a first of its kind role in the film and Shankar Dayal's script is the real strength," says Karthi.

With his last outing Vijay’s ‘Nanban’ took Shankar to another form of filmmaking and expectations are soaring high for his next project and the director is also leaving no stones unturned to make his next film to be a far bigger movie than all his previous ones.

And, for that Shankar has now teamed up with writers Subha – Suresh and Balakrishnan - to write the story for his next film. Shankar wants the story to be an out-and-out action thriller like his debut movie ‘Gentleman’!

The writer duo has already written scripts for K V Anand’s ‘Kana Kandaen’, ‘Ayan’ and ‘Ko’, all those were blockbuster movies. Shankar wants a story to fall in line that of these films.

Shankar’s favourite writer was late Sujatha, who wrote most of his films. Since Sujatha is no more Shankar joined hands with Madhan Karky to write his movies ‘Endhiran’ and ‘Nanban’.

The new film is expected to be against the spread of corruption in our system.

Anushka’s cameo appearance in Karthi’s film ‘Saguni’ is confirmed now that sources close to the makers of the film said that very soon they would be filming the shots of Anushka’s act for the film.

This guest appearance by the actress is on the request from Karthi and director Shankar Dayal, who for long time had been asking the actress to do the part. As Anushka has a big fan following and good market value in Tollywood the producers, who is also releasing the film in Telugu (as dubbed version), wanted her in the film and convinced to do the cameo appearance.

‘Saguni’ is a political thriller having Karthi in a new role. Pranitha plays the female lead and Santhanam is there for the comedy relief. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Radhika and Roja are also playing prominent roles.

Karthi is currently filming ‘Alex Pandian’ with Anushka as heroine and Suraaj directing it. Anushka, apart from the above film, is doing ‘Thaandavam’ with Vikram and ‘Irandaam Ulagam’ with Arya that is directed by Selvaraghavan.

Even as the media is speculating about the story of Dhanush’s ‘3’, Aishwarya Dhanush, the director of the film is keeping her mouth shut not revealing the story of her movie.

But, media, quoting sources from inside the film’s unit, has now come out with a story saying that this is the one that the film is all about, and it is…
